Tessmer Tips – How to Be a GREAT Client

Tip #8 on being a great client: Don’t show up at the office expecting to see your attorney
without an appointment. Law offices are extremely busy and need to keep a schedule for appointments. Likewise, if you make an appointment you cannot keep, you should let your attorney’s office know as soon as possible.

Tip #9 on being a great client: The practice of law is a service; “a lawyer’s time and advice are his stock in trade” (Abraham Lincoln). Think about what your goals are, what you are willing to settle for at minimum and what you need to know in order to understand your legal matter. Before seeking a lawyer, ask yourself, “What do I want and what am I willing to do to get it?” Knowing the answers to these questions will save time for everyone involved.rsp
